It has jacket leaf edges that can fold in on a particular pattern, and a handy gauge in inches and centimeters on the back.

There are great photo illustrations of stitches at the back though admittedly the photos are of rudimentary stitches that most crocheters already know. The photos of the finished pieces are good, full size pictures that give a great idea of what the finished piece will loo like. The first thing is that the "plus" is more plus than I am, and more plus than most of the sizes I buy in stores.

I'm just under six feet tall and almost always buy a 1X - but this 1X is far too big. I will need to adjust all my stitches to accommodate my hardly slighter frame. Secondly, there is a woeful lack of adventure here -- cardigans are cardigans and anybody who crochets can make one. Even the tunic is really a cardy with no opening at the front. There are a few interesting stitches -- the silk scoop neck in particular is a lovely stitch and the directions for creating covered buttons is handy -- but a lot of what's here are pretty simple stitches on pretty simple designs.

I'd have been interested in some doleman sleeves, perhaps, and some interesting cables. One gets the sense that the focus is on use of the various yarns more than on the finished products. For someone who has sophisticated skills at crochet, this might not offer any real challenges.

Those looking to pick up a couple of ideas they can work into other patterns they already have the collar on the short-sleeve pullover is cute you might find some inspiration. On the whole, however, not my favorite pattern book. I am so happy with this book, I only wish I had ordered it sooner, like last summer. I could have made myself a nice winter sweater. I like nearly every style in the book.

I really like this book in spiral, so much easier for working from, I don't have to bend the spine out of shape. It also has nice inside flaps that work for bookmarks on your project. I am currently working on 2 sweaters now, one for myself, and one for my daughter. She had to look in the book 4 times before she could truly decide which style she wanted, so many to choose from. It looks like most of the models are size 2x, and perhaps even a 3 x.

This is more encouraging, as too often plus size clothing is shown on a large or maybe X-large figure, but it doesn't always look the same on larger sizes. We really appreciate the color pictures and full size models. The patterns are fairly easy to read and understand, and size range is up to 4x I do wish the author had included a source for the yarns, as she chose to use quality yarns, even specialty fibers.

I went shopping for yarns recently, and we did not find many of the ones she listed in the book, so I am buying them online. I like that the sweaters shown have a variety of fibers, some light weights, some bulky fibers, bright colors, and even metallic. I will look for more of her books in plus size crochet. Great value book for any avid crochet library! One person found this helpful.

Practical and stylish plus-size patterns that don't make bigger gals feel frumpy. This book is full of beautiful and stylish clothing and accessories for many skill levels. I am very pleased with it. Can't wait to try some of these. Love the spiral bound. Glad I bought this one. What i like about this book is it gives you instructions on how to increase stitches for other patterns that may not be in my size This is a wonderful book.

It is nicely illustrated, and has nice patterns. The instructions are a little hard to follow at times, that is why I gave it one less star. I also wish it gave clear instructions on how to alter the pattern sections for using two different sizes at the same time for different sections of the pattern.

We plus size women need many more books like this. I have two friends who already plan to buy it. Hat's off to the Author! See all 65 reviews.
